HomeGoods Fall Home Tour 2015

Welcome to Designs by Laila's Fall Home Tour

This year, I have really enjoyed changing things up & decorating for Fall. I don't know if I was ready for a change of weather {because its was too warm for too long in California!} Or I was just ready for a new look...regardless, I love changes!

Before I begin any further, I'm excited to share that The Bay Area Home ladies & I are doing a Fall Home Tour sponsored by HomeGoods. We each bring a different flair to interior styling & wanted to share with you how we each decorate our homes for Fall. At the end of this post, don't forget to visit the rest of the awesome Bay Area Home Fall Tour.. I promise you will find inspirations that will fit your decor style!

Let's get started..for my Fall decor I decided to go with more warmer tones.  I was all about using golds, whites, & textures for this Fall!  Usually I'll add a pop of color with my black and white decor but for a change I thought I can try something different...therefore went ahead with neutrals.  Quite frankly, I don't remember the last time I did neutral decor in my home? It's been a very long time...But you know what,  I'm loving it!  I think I am going to stick with these warm tones for a while...seriously! I think these colors will work all the way through the Winter & holidays too.. that's so great!!

When I originally started shopping for Fall decorations, particularly gold pillows....I really didn't have any luck at first because I was looking for a particular shade of gold. One day, I went to my local HomeGoods with my mom...& it's always nice to go shopping with moms because sometimes they spot the best treasures for you. Like when I was shopping for gold pillows; I could've sworn that I checked all the pillow aisles, not once but at least three times lol ...I didn't spot any gold ones that I liked. My mom walks up from around the corner & tells me pretty much...oh here, thought you might like this. Like it?  I love it! How did she spot it & not me? This woman has an eye for things lol So now I'm super excited & what do I do again, I wrap around the pillow aisles & double check if I missed anything haha!  Luckily, this time around I found a few more pillows with the shades that I liked...score!

Gold, golds & more golds!  There's something about golds that's always so timeless & classic.  I love using golds in my home because everything looks so elegant. For my coffee table vignette, I just grouped all the golds & whites together on a white tray without adding any other pops of color...I really like how it turned out. With less accessories, my table looks more simpler & cleaner.

Since my coffee table is all silver {& glass} I love mixing golds accents with it. Actually, some of my family & friends like to use only one or the other {silver or gold} when decorating their home...But in my opinion, there's really no rule to stick to only one kind of tone.  I'm probably more about breaking decor rules if any lol. Silvers & golds compliments each other very well. I like using it as a base color then building other colors & patterns over...kind of like layering. As long as it goes beautifully & harmoniously together it works great for me! In case your wondering where some of these items are from..gold vases, faux branch leaves, & candle holder is from HomeGoods. Coffee table & coffee tray is from ZGallerie. The gold and white lidded vase will be available in my shop; Laila's Boutique soon!

Lets talk about my new fireplace for a sec! Before we moved in, this house didn't have a fireplace mantel. I thought to myself that this is such a beautiful fireplace but I feel like it's missing something.  I tried adding different decor pieces around but it still seemed very bare to me. So, I finally told my husband that this fireplace needs a mantel & by adding it will then look more complete.  Thanks to my hubby, one day he came home surprising me with a fireplace mantel..I was so excited! He also painted it & installed it all in the same day {it wasn't easy drilling holes through those bricks} I was one happy girl that day! As soon as it was hung up, I immediately fell in love! I added my sun burst mirror {which is from my shop} & voila! Sure enough, the newly added mantel made my fireplace look more complete. As a matter of fact, I felt like my new  fireplace even gave my Fall decor a whole new look too! :)

Did I already mention how much I enjoyed decorating for Fall this year? lol  For me, Fall means creating an ambiance that is warm, cozy & inviting.  The thought of spending days where you just turn on the fireplace, cuddle and watch a movie with your family...with hot chocolate of coarse ;)  it's just priceless! If you think about it, during Fall & Winter; we tend to spend most of our time indoors anyway so why not make it special.

One of the things that I also love decorating in the Fall are white pumpkins.
They're just so pretty! You can use pumpkins in just about anything or anywhere in your decor..Tables capes, around the fireplace, vignettes, center pieces & so much more, This white pumpkin is actually candle & I decided to place it on this gold chandelier candle holder for my coffee table.. isn't it just so darn cute! I'm planning on getting more white pumpkins just to have around my home.

I have to say, sticking to a color theme made it very easy for me to decorate for this Fall.  I found so  many golds and whites just by shopping in my own home..isn't that the best! Not only did I find things from around my home but also some gold and white decorations that I have put away.  Now I can re-use them like these beautiful potpourri;  I originally had in my bedroom & now I moved it to my family room. Some Fall decorations from last year that I put away, I brought out & displayed all of it in my apothecary jars...it all worked out nicely!  On that note, aren't apothecary jars the best? I love them! I mean they re so versatile, you can practically use it for anything.  As you can see I used mine for some fun Fall decorations but I also use them to put sweets on my desert table & it just looks so pretty!

Here is a closer look of the HomeGoods pillows I bought with my mom that day :)

I'm really looking forward cozying up & enjoying all the beautiful things that Fall brings.

I hope you enjoyed looking through my Fall Home Tour as I enjoyed sharing them with you!  I would love to hear your thoughts by commenting below & don't forget to visit the rest of The Bay Area Home bloggers for more beautiful Fall decor:

  7. Stopping by from Collette's Spindle and Rye... Wow. This is absolutely gorgeous. There is a good chance you get a call from a grumpy husband who just received a list from his wife demanding a fireplace like that... Pay him no mind, just tell him to figure it out, and that anything can be done if you put your mind to it! <3 Wonderful blog. I look forward to catching up with you!
